Audition Information
Arrangements for Auditions
Auditions for SYO take place every June, although informal auditions can be arranged mid-year if you would like to join immediately. If you wish to audition, please complete an application form online and the Musical Director will be in touch about our next audition dates.
If you are auditioning for Sinfonia or Symphony orchestra you will need to prepare an orchestral excerpt, which can be downloaded from this page.
This year's excerpt is from the last movement of Dvorak Symphony No.6 in D.
All applicants are also required to prepare two short contrasting pieces, and should expect some orchestral sight-reading.
